Antique Japanese Boro Iron Oxide Dyed Patchwork Distressed Fiber Art

Superb and super rare bengala/iron oxide dyed antique Japanese Boro distressed and patched futon cover repaired and assembled in my Brooklyn studio from multiple fragments and stretched and edge wrapped onto Museo ALU-frame museum quality stretcher bars. Dating from the late 1800s with diamond patterned sashiko stitching all over, family crest, contrasting green natural dyed patches and an extremely satisfying amount of distress. Strong, soft, medium weight hand-loomed cotton fabric.

Measures 44" wide x 50" high x 2" deep.
