Pillow made in my Brooklyn studio from antique (late 19th/early 20th century) Japanese katazome indigo dyed cotton fabric. Each side has a combination of amazing katazome repeating cranes and clouds + sumi ink dyed (sumizone) fabrics. Sashiko style embellishment added by me.
In Japanese culture, cranes represent good fortune and longevity.
- Pillow cover with insert measures 15" high x 15" wide.
Option to purchase with a 18" x 18" pillow insert as shown. Comes with a 18" x 18" cotton cover with 100% feather fill.
Antique fabric is backed with new heavy-weight cotton canvas for reinforcement.
Inside pillow edges are serged with over-locking stitches for further durability.
