Antique Japanese Boro Safflower Indigo Dyed Katazome Long Lumbar Pillow

Long lumbar pillow made from beautifully distressed antique (late 19th/early 20th) Japanese indigo and safflower (benibana) katazome (resist dyed) fabric with gorgeous mum pattern on one side and antique Japanese safflower dyed (benibana) fabric on the other side with patches. In Japanese culture, mums represent longevity and rejuvenation.

Pillow with insert measures 11" high x 32" wide.

Cover alone measures 11" x 32".

Comes with a 14" x 36" insert with a 100% cotton cover and 100% polyester fill as shown in the pictures.

Antique exterior fabric is backed with new, heavy-weight cotton canvas for reinforcement.

Inside pillow edges are sewn with over-locking stitches for further durability.

Invisible zipper hidden in seam for easy removal as needed.

1 small hand-repaired, sashiko stitched area and 2 patches on the safflower/benibana side.
